At Club Nàutic Estartit, we would like to congratulate our neighbor and renowned freediver, Isabel Sánchez-Arán, for her outstanding achievements at the 2025 World Freediving Championship, recently held in Mytikas (Greece). Isabel won two bronze medals and set new Spanish records in highly technical disciplines, a remarkable accomplishment that consolidates her position as one of the leading figures in freediving in our country.
The World Freediving Championship is one of the most demanding competitions on the international calendar, bringing together the best freedivers in the world in events of great technical and physical complexity. The fact that Isabel managed to reach the podium in such a highly competitive context, while also setting new national records, is a testament to her determination, consistency, and sporting excellence. This success is not only of personal value to the athlete but also represents an important milestone for the Catalan and Spanish sporting community. Her career inspires new generations of freedivers and highlights the importance of the sporting culture connected to the sea, a fundamental value for our Club.

Technical performances and spanish records
Isabel Sánchez-Arán achieved a historic result in two particularly demanding disciplines:
· Free Immersion (FIM): 92 meters in 4 minutes and 5 seconds.
· Constant Weight with Fins (CWT): 96 meters in 3 minutes and 48 seconds.
These performances not only earned her a place on the podium but also set new national records, consolidating her position among the world’s top freedivers and putting Estartit on the international freediving map.
Following these results, at Club Nàutic Estartit we wanted to join in the well-deserved recognition, highlighting the positive impact that this success has for the town and for the promotion of nautical and underwater sports. The Torroella de Montgrí Town Council has also expressed its pride, and highlighted Isabel’s work as co-responsible for the Apnea Club La Caretta, located in our port, from where she trains and inspires new practitioners of this sport.

A source of pride for l’Estartit and the nautical community
At Club Nàutic Estartit, we particularly value this success for three main reasons:
1. Technical and sporting effort: reaching depths close to 100 meters requires years of training, great physical endurance, and exceptional mental control.
2. Local reference: Isabel carries the name of l’Estartit and Montgrí around the world, giving our community international visibility.
3. Boost for freediving and aquatic sports: her active role in training helps to consolidate this discipline at the local level.

On behalf of Club Nàutic Estartit, we once again celebrate Isabel Sánchez-Arán as the winner of two bronze medals, new records, and a long and exemplary sporting career. Her effort and dedication are a source of pride for l’Estartit and an inspiration for all those who love the sea and aquatic sports.
