On September 26, at the Palau de la Generalitat, the M.H. President Salvador Illa received a delegation from the Occitan ports, led by its president, Serge Pallares, accompanied by the 1st Vice President of the ACPET and Director of the Club Nàutic l’Escala, Raimon Roca, and the Director of the Club Nàutic Estartit, Eugeni Figa, also Vice President of the ACPET and representative of the ports in the Girona district. The meeting lasted around an hour and focused on discussing strategies to strengthen cooperation between the two regions, which share the same navigation space in areas such as biodiversity protection, maritime uses and governance, climate change, energy transition, and digitalization, among other issues. A notable proposal made to the President of the Generalitat was to create a “Sea Parliament,” modeled after the one their French neighbors have, intended to be a meeting space for all economic sectors that depend on the sea. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, and the President of the Port of Barcelona, José Alberto Carbonell.
