The European Commission, through its Green Forum portal, has published a success story dedicated to our Club, highlighting our trajectory as a leading Club Nàutic in sustainability and environmental management under the EMAS system. The article, titled “Setting sail for sustainability: how Club Nàutic Estartit champions EMAS in the marina sector”, showcases our contribution to the development of a more responsible nautical model aligned with European environmental objectives.
This publication recognizes the work carried out over more than two decades to integrate environmental management, innovation, and corporate social responsibility into the Club’s operational strategy. Being identified as a European success story is another step forward in our goal of demonstrating that sustainability and competitiveness can progress together in the nautical sector.

More than 20 years of commitment to the EMAS system
Recently, this European distinction has been further reinforced by another significant achievement: the recognition of more than 20 years of adherence to the EMAS system, within the EMAS Catalunya 2025 Awards, organized by Club EMAS with the support of the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat de Catalunya. These awards recognize the trajectory of organizations that maintain a continuous commitment to environmental excellence.
This distinction reflects consistency and technical rigor in the implementation of a consolidated and audited environmental management system, which has enabled us to reduce ecological impact, optimize natural resources, and promote environmental awareness among all port users.

Sustainability as a strategic management axis
Club Nàutic Estartit was a pioneer in incorporating environmental, social, and economic criteria into its comprehensive management approach. From emissions control and efficient waste management to the active protection of the marine environment and collaboration with the Parc Natural del Montgrí, les Illes Medes i el Baix Ter, sustainability is present in every area of our operations.
The EMAS system (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), promoted by the European Union, has provided us with a solid methodological framework for continuous improvement, independent verification, and informational transparency, thanks to the publication of our verified Environmental Statement.
These recognitions strengthen our commitment to continue advancing along the sustainability roadmap, promoting new clean technologies, energy efficiency projects, and environmental training and awareness actions among all stakeholders in the nautical sector.
