If you have enjoyed sailing with us without a license this year or in previous years, or if you are interested in doing so next year, we want to let you know that it will be essential to have a license to rent any boat. At Club Nàutic Estartit, we make it as easy as possible for you so that you can continue renting boats with us without any problems.
Why do you need a license for next summer?
According to the new regulation, next summer you will not be able to rent boats without presenting a valid license. This means that if you plan to sail with us in the future, you’ll need to take one of the courses very soon!
Advantages of training at the CNE Nautical School
At Club Nàutic Estartit, we offer practical and accessible courses for all levels, taught in an exceptional setting. In collaboration with the Escola Nàutica Baix Empordà, we provide a learning experience tailored to your needs. You’ll also enjoy special discounts to make your course a complete and worthwhile experience.
- Local and hands-on learning: all courses take place at the Club Nàutic Estartit Activities Center, right in front of the Medes Islands, a privileged environment for learning.
- Exclusive discounts: 20% off the course for Club members, 10% off the course for customers who have previously rented a boat with us, and in addition, once you have completed the course, all graduates of the CNE Nautical School will receive a 20% discount on boat rentals at Club Nàutic Estartit.
- Established school: the courses are offered in collaboration with Escola Nàutica Baix Empordà, a leading reference in nautical training in the area.

What licenses can you obtain?
Through Club Nàutic Estartit and Escola Nàutica Baix Empordà, we offer a wide variety of certified licenses, adapted to different levels, that will allow you to freely rent our boats:
1. Navigation License (LN)
- Boats up to 6 m
- Motorboats
- Daytime navigation up to 2 miles
- Duration: 6 h (2 h theory + 4 h practice)
- National navigation
2. Basic Navigation Skipper (PNB)
- Boats up to 8 m
- Motor and sailing boats
- Day and night navigation
- Navigation up to 5 miles
- Duration: 21 h (9 h theory + 12 h practice)
- International navigation
3. Recreational Boat Skipper (PER)
- Boats up to 15 m
- Motor and sailing boats
- Day and night navigation
- Navigation up to 12 miles
- Duration: 48 h (20 h theory + 28 h practice)
- International navigation
