Great result for Sara Ayats at the Spanish Cup

From 1 to 3 May, the 2026 Spanish Cup for the Europe Class was held at Club Nàutic El Masnou, a national-level regatta that brought together a total of 26 participants and in which all nine scheduled races were completed over three days.

The competition was marked by changing weather conditions that put the sailors to the test from the very first day.

On Friday, the competition began with a steady easterly wind of around 20 knots, which produced significant waves and turned the day into a major physical and technical challenge. The demanding upwind legs and unstable downwind runs forced all participants to give their very best in each race.

On Saturday, the wind dropped to 10 knots, but the swell, still significant, maintained a high level of difficulty throughout all the races.

On Sunday, the challenge continued. With winds of between 6 and 8 knots and residual waves, the sailors had to navigate with great precision to get the best possible performance.

Sara Ayats reaches the women’s podium

Special mention should be made of our sailor Sara Ayats, who delivered an excellent performance in this Spanish Cup for the Europe Class.

Sara was crowned runner-up in the women’s category and also achieved an impressive 8th place in the overall standings.

This result reflects her effort, perseverance and ability to adapt in a highly demanding regatta, with changing conditions and a strong competitive field.

From the Club, we would like to congratulate her on this great result and on continuing to represent our organisation with commitment, talent and passion for sailing.
