Fire and rescue drills at our port: at the Club, we are ready to take action

During this month of October, at Club Nàutic Estartit, two emergency drills were carried out in the port: a rescue exercise for a person in the water and a fire drill on a vessel moored at the dock. These actions were conducted with the aim of testing the Self-Protection Plan (PAU) and strengthening coordination among all emergency services involved in managing potential incidents.

Coordination between emergency services

The exercises involved the participation of several services that collaborated jointly to ensure an efficient response:

  • Bombers de la Generalitat, responsible for fire-fighting and safety tasks in the affected area.
  • Servei d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM), in charge of providing medical care to injured or affected individuals.
  • Mossos d’Esquadra and Policia Local, who managed access control and the delimitation of safety perimeters.
  • Servei Marítim de la Guàrdia Civil, which oversaw maritime control at the port entrance.
  • Marineria of Club Nàutic Estartit, together with Ports de la Generalitat and Protecció Civil, who collaborated on overall coordination and logistical support for the drills.

This collaboration between services is essential to verify the effectiveness of intervention protocols and ensure that the response to any emergency is fast, coordinated, and safe.

Commitment to safety and training

At Club Nàutic Estartit, we consider safety a fundamental pillar of our activity. That is why we regularly conduct drills and technical training sessions for our staff and the services operating in the port. These practices allow us to evaluate operational procedures, improve communication between teams, and ensure an effective response to real situations such as fires, accidents, or sea rescues. They also help promote a culture of prevention among all port users and reinforce confidence in our ability to manage any eventuality.

Protecting the port and the marine environment

Drills are not only used to verify internal protocols but also to protect our maritime environment. In the event of an incident, a rapid and coordinated response is key to minimizing potential environmental impacts and preserving the quality of the water, fauna, and flora of our coastline. At Club Nàutic Estartit, we maintain a strong commitment to sustainability and maritime safety. We continue working to ensure a port that is safer, well-prepared, and respectful of its natural surroundings.

The exercises carried out this month are part of a continuous improvement strategy that allows us to always remain ready to take action. Collaboration between institutions, staff training, and constant evaluation of procedures help us provide an effective response to any emergency. At Club Nàutic Estartit, we work every day to ensure that our port is a place where safety, professionalism, and respect for the environment always go hand in hand.
