The Club Nàutic Estartit offers the After-School Sailing program, a unique experience for children and teenagers who want to start or improve their skills in the world of sailing, while maintaining a connection with the sea beyond the summer season.
After-School Sailing for all levels
This program, certified by the Catalan Sailing Federation, is designed for children and young people aged between 6 and 16, and it is much more than just an after-school activity. It offers progressive learning that adapts to the different levels of competence and experience of the participants. From beginners to competitive sailing, young sailors can develop their skills in a safe environment, always accompanied by qualified instructors.
For those who are new to sailing, the program provides a solid foundation that will allow them to learn the fundamental concepts of sailing. The first lessons focus on the basic handling of light sailing boats, always under the supervision of a support boat. As participants gain confidence, they can move on to advanced courses where technique and skill are developed with greater intensity.
For the more advanced sailors, the program offers pre-competition and regatta levels. This phase is designed to prepare young sailors for competing in official regattas, which often take place around the Medes Islands. This setting is ideal for sailing and provides an unparalleled visual and environmental stimulus, making each practice session an opportunity for learning and personal growth.
What does the After-School Sailing program include?
The After-School Sailing program takes place throughout the year, with 4-hour sessions held on weekends, from October to June. This schedule allows young participants to balance sailing with their other academic and social activities.
In addition to practical instruction, Club Nàutic Estartit provides all the necessary materials for safe and effective sailing. Participants have access to light sailing boats, life jackets, and other resources that facilitate learning. It is also recommended to bring appropriate gear such as a windbreaker, wetsuit, and water shoes to ensure a comfortable and safe experience, regardless of weather conditions.
The program aims to train competent sailors while also striving to instill important values such as discipline, perseverance, and respect for the marine environment. The natural setting of the Costa Brava and the Medes Islands serves as an outdoor classroom, where young sailors can learn to value and protect the sea while enjoying sailing.
The cost of the program varies depending on the frequency of attendance, with options ranging from €235 for one weekly session to €325 for two weekly sessions. Enrollment is limited to ensure personalized attention from the instructors, so interested families are encouraged to register in advance.
