This weekend, the grand final of the Lliga Blava Escolar, featuring RS Feva boats, was held at Barcelona’s Port Olímpic. The event marked the conclusion of a season full of training sessions, gatherings, and experiences at sea.
Organised by the Federació Catalana de Vela and the Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica, the Lliga Blava Escolar aims to introduce young people to sailing and encourage sports practice in direct contact with the sea. Throughout the season, participants had the opportunity to discover sailing, learn the values of sport, and compete with other clubs from their area before reaching the grand final, which brought together crews from the three regions of Catalonia: north, central and south.

The event gathered nearly one hundred boys and girls from 23 municipalities and 21 sailing clubs along the Catalan coast. Sailors competed in easterly winds of around 15 knots, with gusts reaching up to 18 knots and choppy half-metre waves. These conditions added excitement and challenge to the competition. The event was marked by the values that sailing promotes, such as teamwork, respect for the marine environment, and appreciation for our coastline.
The crew made up of Max Crego, Mishelle Tamarit and Jan Valdeperas represented the Club, finishing in 22nd place overall. It was a highly enriching sporting and educational experience for our young sailors.

The final standings were led by the clubs Vela Palamós, Nàutic Sitges and Club Vela Blanes, whom we congratulate on their results.
From Club Nàutic Estartit, we would like to thank the organisers, clubs, schools, families, and all the boys and girls who made another season of the Lliga Blava Escolar possible. This initiative continues to demonstrate that sailing is much more than a sport: it is a tool for growth, learning, and enjoying the sea.
