The Optimist Team at the Trofeu Primavera of Club Vela Blanes

Last weekend, April 25th and 26th, sailors Lia Comas and Martí Montanyà took part in the Trofeu Primavera N3, held at Club Vela Blanes. The event brought together young sailors from clubs in the northern area (Girona): L’Escala, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Palamós, l’Estartit and Blanes.

Over the two days, a total of five races were completed: three on Saturday and two more on Sunday. Weather conditions were mild and stable, with a southerly wind of between 5 and 8 knots, allowing the full program to be carried out in good sailing conditions.

Results of our sailors

Martí Montanyà achieved 4th place overall, also standing out with a 1st place finish in the second race on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lia Comas finished 14th overall, achieving 2nd place in the female category.

These participations go far beyond sporting results. We understand sailing as a tool for comprehensive development that fosters values such as responsibility, autonomy, teamwork, and respect for the sea. Regattas like the Trofeu Primavera allow sailors to put into practice everything they have learned during training and to share experiences with sailors from other clubs, thus enriching both their sporting and personal development.

The Club congratulates Lia and Martí for their effort and commitment, and also thanks coach Jan Mas for his support and dedication. We will continue working to further develop grassroots sailing and to pass on a passion for the sea to the new generations of sailors.
