Club Nàutic Estartit has entered into a collaboration agreement with the Nautical School Baix Empordà in Palafrugell to offer courses for obtaining nautical certifications throughout the year. This initiative will allow sailing enthusiasts to receive training at various levels and in different formats, with the support of a well-established school in the sector.
Training for all levels
The Nautical School Baix Empordà, founded in 2009, offers a wide range of courses, from basic licenses to advanced certifications for recreational boat captains. The training programs are designed with a hands-on approach and adapted to students’ needs, offering in-person, intensive, and online learning options.
Here are some of the main available courses:
- Navigation License Course: Aimed at those who want to get started in boating, this short course allows you to operate vessels up to 6 meters in length and jet skis. The training includes 6 hours (2 hours of classroom theory and 4 hours of practical training at Club Nàutic Estartit).
- Basic Navigation License (PNB) Course: This certification allows navigation with boats up to 8 meters in length, both day and night, within a 5-nautical-mile radius from the coast. The course is available year-round and combines theory and practice in three formats: in-person, intensive, and online.
- Recreational Boat Skipper License (PER) Course: One of the most comprehensive and in-demand courses. This license allows you to operate boats up to 15 meters in length (extendable to 24 meters), with no engine power limit, as well as any type of jet ski. It permits navigation up to 12 nautical miles from the coast and can be extended to include sailing or crossings between the mainland and the Balearic Islands. It is also internationally recognized and a prerequisite for obtaining the Yacht Captain certification. The course is available throughout the year and offers a mix of theory and practice in three formats: in-person, intensive, and online.

On the weekend of May 3rd and 4th, Club Nàutic Estartit will host intensive courses in the following categories:
- Navigation license
- Intensive PNB
- Intensive PER
Prices and conditions
- Navigation license: €250 (minimum 4 participants)
- Intensive PNB: €650 (minimum 4 participants)
- Intensive PER: €995 (minimum 4 participants)
Members of Club Nàutic Estartit will receive a 20% discount on all courses.
Flexible sessions
To ensure training is accessible, several sessions will be scheduled throughout the year. If a member wishes to take a course on a non-scheduled date, they may do so at the Baix Empordà Nautical School in Palafrugell, benefiting from the same discounts.
