Club Nàutic Estartit students take part in the first Blue School League in Barcelona

On October 12, after-school sailing students enthusiastically took part in the Blue School League held in Barcelona, a competition aimed at popularizing the sport of sailing among young people. The initiative was promoted by the Catalan Sailing Federation and Barcelona Nautical Capital in the context of the America’s Cup.

Sailing as a tool for education

The Blue School League is more than a competition. With schools from all over the country taking part, it becomes an opportunity for young sailors to learn in a collaborative environment. In this context, sailing not only teaches sailing techniques, but also values such as teamwork, perseverance and the ability to meet challenges.

Club Nàutic Estartit students Lia, Juan Carlos, Arlet and Martí had the opportunity to compete against other young sailors in various types of regattas. In addition to the competition, the event promoted environmental education, encouraging respect for the sea and the environment, a key value that the club has always upheld.

An exciting challenge in Barcelona’s waters

21 teams from 18 clubs all over Catalonia took part in this sporting day, competing in two races in a recreational regatta, with collective boats and teams made up of four people (two boys and two girls).

Our young sailors were able to consolidate their learning in a healthy competitive environment, promoting equal opportunities and empowering girls in sport.

After the races, the participants were able to watch the America’s Cup final between Ineos Britannia and Team New Zealand. They then made their way to the America’s Cup Village for the awards ceremony,

This event enabled the young sailors to experience the excitement of one of the world’s most important sailing competitions, and to share unforgettable moments with the other participants.

Looking to the future: Club Nàutic Estartit’s commitment

From Club Nàutic Estartit, we will continue to work to offer our students unforgettable experiences such as participation in the school Blue League. This type of event not only consolidates the technical skills of young sailors, but also promotes respect for the sea and the environment that surrounds us.

Our Activities Centre not only aims to train good sportsmen and women, but also responsible citizens committed to the environment.

Congratulations to all participants, and we look forward to seeing you out on the water again to continue sailing towards new challenges!
