Scheduled Activities by the Montgrí, the Medes Islands, and the Baix Ter Natural Park
August 9 | La Pletera at Sunset
Sunset is the perfect time to discover La Pletera, a wetland teeming with life. During this excursion, participants will have the opportunity to observe the local fauna and flora while enjoying a spectacular landscape at dusk. Expert guides will teach us how to identify the most emblematic species and explain the importance of this ecosystem. The activity will begin at 7:00 PM at La Pletera in Torroella de Montgrí.

August 12nd and 30th | The Simiot and Daró Route
On August 12 and 30, you can explore the Simiot and Daró Route, a guided tour that takes you through the natural and cultural landscapes of the area. This itinerary offers a unique opportunity to learn about the legends and history connected to the Simiot, a mythical creature from local folklore, and the Daró River. Participants will discover the rich biodiversity of the region while delving into its fascinating stories. The exact time and meeting point will be announced closer to the dates.
August 19th | The Lady of the Bellcaire Flour Mill and the Mill Canal
In this excursion, participants will discover the mill that runs through Bellcaire and its influence on the local ecosystem. Through detailed explanations, they will learn about the importance of the canals and their relationship with the area’s biodiversity. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to observe the local fauna and enjoy a historical and cultural tour. The visit begins at 6:00 PM at the Bellcaire Castle.
August 23th | In Search of the Estartit Treasure
“In Search of the Estartit Treasure” is an adventure where, with the help of a map, a starfish, and a silver gull, participants will learn about the animals and plants that inhabit the coastline. This activity is ideal for children, as it combines fun with environmental education, helping them develop an ecological awareness from an early age. The activity will take place at the Estartit Tourist Office at 10:00 AM.
August 26th | The Kentish Plover Route
This family-friendly activity allows participants to explore the Pals dunes, a coastal ecosystem of great ecological value. A fun beach game will help uncover the flora and fauna of the Kentish plover, a protected bird species. Participants will also learn about the dunes and their ecological importance. The activity begins at 6:00 PM at the Grau Beach parking lot.
All activities scheduled by the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands, and the Baix Ter are free of charge. However, spaces are limited, and prior registration is required.
