During the weekend of May 25th and 26th, the Club’s Europes team travelled to Masnou to compete in the last level 2 regatta of the season, the Regata Port Masnou 2024.

Favorable weather conditions
The weather conditions were suitable and allowed five of the six scheduled races to be successfully completed. On Saturday, a southerly thermal wind with an intensity of between 7 and 9 knots allowed four races to be completed. On Sunday, although the wind maintained the same direction, it was much weaker and only allowed one race to be completed. This scenario demanded the best from each sailor, and the Club’s team did not disappoint.
The results of our sailors in Port Masnou 2024
The Club’s sailors who participated in the competition were Sara Ayats, Anna Pla, Aina Artalejo and Matteo Galindo. The results reflected the effort and dedication of these young athletes..
Sara Ayats stood out with a seventh position, being very regular and always sailing in the leading group of the fleet. She took first place in the U20 female category. Aina Artalejo closed the top ten of the classification by winning in the U18 female category. Matteo Galindo, despite a disqualification for violating rule 42 of the Racing Rules of Sailing, achieved a meritorious eleventh position. Finally, Anna Pla completed the club’s participation with a respectable eighteenth position.

Satisfactory results that help to set the objectives towards the big regattas of the summer: the European Youth Championship to be held in Newport (Belgium) and the World Championship to be sailed in Finland.
