OncoSwim 2026<\/a> took place last Saturday, 30 May, in a very special edition: the 10th charity open-water swim along the Costa Brava in support of the fight against cancer, especially triple-negative breast cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promoted by the Fundaci\u00f3 Oncolliga Girona and Radikal Swim, the event once again showed that sport can be much more than a physical challenge. OncoSwim is a collective experience full of effort and solidarity,<\/strong> in which every stroke counts towards a cause that speaks to us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An iconic swim along the Costa Brava<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The event brought together 33 teams and nearly 200 swimmers who took on the challenge of completing 30 kilometres<\/strong> in open water, setting off from l\u2019Estartit and finishing in Calella de Palafrugell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route passed through some of the most iconic spots on the Costa Brava, such as the Illes Medes and the Illes Formigues, turning the swim into a sporting challenge that was as demanding as it was exciting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A record-breaking edition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 10th edition of OncoSwim closed with an extraordinary figure: more than \u20ac117,000 raised, an all-time record in the history of the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone reflects the strength of a project that, year after year, has managed to grow without losing its essence: swimming to support research, accompany people with cancer, and turn sporting effort into real help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over these 10 years, OncoSwim has raised more than \u20ac600,000. <\/strong>Part of these funds is allocated to research into triple-negative breast cancer, while another part is invested in direct support for people with cancer and their families, through the support services of the Fundaci\u00f3 Oncolliga Girona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stories that give meaning to every stroke<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the figures, OncoSwim once again left us with images and stories full of emotion. One of them was Maria\u2019s story, who made her debut as a participant this year after overcoming triple-negative breast cancer 14 years ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside her teammates from the International Swimmers team, she completed the route and overcame a new personal challenge. Her testimony<\/a> symbolises the true spirit of the swim: swimming to move forward, to celebrate life, and to give hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every stroke counts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the Club, we would like to congratulate all the participating teams, swimmers, volunteers, organisers and collaborators who made another edition of OncoSwim possible. We are proud to be part of a swim that brings together sport and solidarity, and to have contributed by providing, free of charge, moorings for all teams, technical support, facilities, logistics and crane lifting service. An initiative that shows that, when we swim together for a cause, every stroke has a real impact.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
