Two sailors from Club N\u00e0utic Estartit<\/strong>, Joan Pla and Sara Ayats<\/strong>, represented the Club in the waters of Lake Garda (Torbole, Italy), taking part in the Open Week and the Europa Class World Championship<\/strong>. This international competition brings together the elite of dinghy sailing every year, offering the best sailing conditions and a high level of competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Week: an opportunity to secure World Championship qualification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From July 28 to August 1<\/strong>, sailor Joan Pla<\/strong> took part in the Open Week<\/a><\/strong>, a regatta held prior to the World Championship that offers additional spots to sailors who have not secured qualification through the national championships. With a strong start and consistency in the first days, Joan fought for one of these spots,<\/strong> but after eight races, he narrowly missed out on qualification, finishing in an honorable 42nd place.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Championship: Sara Ayats in the World Top 20<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

From August 3 to 7, Sara Ayats<\/strong>, a member of the national team<\/strong>, took part directly in the Europa Class World Championship<\/strong>.<\/a> The conditions on Lake Garda were excellent for sailing<\/strong>, allowing all 10 scheduled races<\/strong> to be completed. Thanks to her consistency and good tactical decisions, Sara achieved a final 17th place<\/strong>, placing herself among the best sailors in the world in her category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torbole: the sailing paradise on Lake Garda<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Torbole<\/strong> is a small village located on the northern shore of Lake Garda,<\/strong> in Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy. Nestled between the impressive Alpine mountains and the lake\u2019s crystal-clear waters, this place combines spectacular scenery with unique sailing conditions. Its geographical location, where the lake narrows before opening towards the plain, creates a particular microclimate that attracts athletes and tourists all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What truly makes Torbole unique in the sailing<\/strong> world are its constant and predictable winds. In the morning, the Peler<\/strong> blows\u2014a cool north wind offering ideal conditions for technical training and demanding races. In the afternoon, it\u2019s the Ora,<\/strong> a thermal wind from the south, that takes over, bringing perfect intensity and consistency for competition. This alternation allows regattas to be held with a high level of safety and optimal reliability in scheduling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
