On July 16th, 2025,<\/strong> l\u2019Estartit once again dressed up in celebration to honor one of the most cherished maritime traditions: the feast of our lady of mount Carmel<\/strong>, patron saint of fishermen and sailors. <\/strong>A tribute filled with emotion and respect, keeping alive the spirit of a community tied to the sea for generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does this tradition represent?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The celebration of our lady of mount Carmel <\/strong>is not just a religious festivity; it is an act of identity and cultural rootedness.<\/strong> The town of L\u2019Estartit, like so many others along the Mediterranean coast, has grown around fishing activity, and this day represents the collective gratitude to the patron saint who watches over sailors and seafarers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 16th, the program included a solemn mass, the singing of a traditional seafaring song, sardana dances, and the procession,<\/strong> culminating with a concert on the 18th<\/strong> at Pla\u00e7a del Molinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why does the Club continue this tradition?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For Club N\u00e0utic Estartit, taking part in the feast of our lady of mount Carmel is much more than a symbolic act. It is a declaration of commitment to our history, our environment, and our people.<\/strong> Sailing in this procession is an act of respect, of passing down values, and also of intergenerational togetherness. The sea unites us. It gives us life, leisure, and beauty. And with Our Lady of Mount Carmel leading the way, we are reminded each year that we must protect it, cherish it, and share it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Club accompanies our lady of mount Carmel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With decorated boats, sailors and neighbors united by tradition<\/strong>, we sailed in silence and with respect around the Medes Islands aboard a couple of vessels from the Club’s fleet. This voyage symbolizes the protection that Our Lady offers to the people of the sea. We will continue to be guardians of this tradition, so that the seafaring roots of L\u2019Estartit remain strong and alive.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
