On 11th January, the Club N\u00e0utic Estartit hosted the IOM Estartit 2025 Regatta, a competition that brought together some of the best skippers in the International One Metro Class (IOM)<\/a>. This type of radio-controlled sailing is one of the most popular worldwide, with boats of one metre in length and weighing 4 kg, which require great skill and strategy from their skippers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ideal setting and demanding conditions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The regatta was attended by 17 competitors from different sailing clubs from the Catalan coast and also from France, thus consolidating Estartit as a reference point in this discipline. The weather forecast did not fail and the Tramontana made an appearance, offering an added challenge to the participants. With winds of varying intensity throughout the day, the sailors had to demonstrate great skill in managing the gusts and rolls of the wind, a key factor in achieving good results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 11 contested races<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite the changeable conditions, a total of 11 races were held, ensuring a dynamic and hard-fought competition. From the very first moment, the fight for the top positions was intense, with tight manoeuvres and excellent tactical management by the participants. Precision sailing and quick decision making made the difference in this demanding regatta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
